As we all know that the Indian Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India on 26th November, 1949 and this came into effect on 26th January, 1950. The Constitution of India is the supreme law and it states all the fundamental political code, procedures, powers and duties of government institutions, set of fundamental rights and duties of Indian Citizens.
To mark its significance, as per the Annual Calendar of Constitution Day, we, at Sulabh Public School, conducted online Debate for classes IX and X on 11th and 12th August, 2020 respectively. A total of 50 active students participated in this online event. The below mentioned topics were given to students to opt from.
- Relevance of fundamental duties in Indian constitution.
- Article 15 in Indian constitution.
- Cultural and religious rights – boon or bane
- Comment your views on Universal Adult Franchises
- Separation of power among different organ of the government – boon or bane.
The contestants contributed enthusiastically as it was a new exposure for them to take part in online debate and also the topics relevant to their academics. Amid Covid-19, the teachers and children vigorously showcased their energy to complete the assigned task of holding Debate.
